BEFORE YOU BOOK
How placement works
Before your first one-on-one lesson, you take a short online placement test. It's a required step between paying and booking wherever the subject has a mapped test — not an optional extra, and not a sales call.
Why a test instead of a free intro call
Most tutoring sites offer a free fifteen-minute intro call. We don't, because it wastes your time and tells the teacher very little. The placement test does the same job better: your teacher sees your result before you meet, so your first paid lesson starts at the right level instead of being spent working out what you already know.
What it involves
It's a short online test you complete on your own, before the lesson. There's nothing to prepare for and nothing to pass or fail — it simply places you. If you grew up hearing a language but never spoke it, take the test anyway: passive understanding usually places people higher than they expect.
Your result travels with you
If you later decide to work with a different teacher in the same subject, your placement result is forwarded automatically. You don't take the test twice.
Group courses
Live cohort courses handle placement per course: some require it so everyone in the group is at a compatible level, and some are open to join with no test at all. Each course listing tells you which before you enrol.
