Maria Guerra
I am a native Spanish teacher from Guayaquil, Ecuador, with over five years of experience teaching Spanish online — and unusually, she chooses to work with beginners. Most teachers drift toward advanced students because it is easier. I went the other way, because the first weeks are where a learner decides whether Spanish is something they can do or something they will always be bad at, and she wants to be there for that.
I hold a certificate in teaching Spanish as a foreign language from ELE International and a degree in Social Communication with a focus on visual production — which shows in her lessons. I build my own materials: visual, practical, and designed around the way people actually talk rather than the order a textbook happens to introduce things. Every learning plan is personal, built around your pace, your goals, and what you actually want to say.
Outside the classroom, I coordinate weekly language exchange meetups connecting Spanish learners with native speakers. I watched hundreds of people have their first real conversation in a new language — the nerves beforehand and the look on their face afterward. That is the moment her teaching is built around.
